Security Engineer Data Privacy

Location: Bengaluru, India (2 days onsite per week) FTC Until Jan 2027 with possibility of extension.

Arj Global is seeking a Data Privacy Consultant to support global privacy operations for an enterprise environment handling large volumes of sensitive and personal data.

This role focuses on ensuring compliance with global data protection regulations, strengthening governance frameworks, and embedding a culture of data responsibility across digital and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track updates in global data privacy laws and align internal policies accordingly
• Review existing digital and data handling practices to ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, standards, and procedures
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs) and recommend risk mitigation measures
• Deliver privacy training and awareness sessions to business and technical stakeholders
• Advise teams on data protection best practices including storage, transfer, and retention
• Drive ongoing risk management, reporting, and governance updates to leadership
• Manage privacy incidents, breaches, and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
• Collaborate with Information Security teams to define and enforce data protection controls
• Support audits and ensure readiness for regulatory or internal compliance reviews

Key Requirements

Experience

• 4–7+ years in data privacy / regulatory compliance
• Strong experience in privacy operations teams
• Proven track record in:
  • Conducting privacy assessments
  • Handling privacy incidents
  • Managing DSARs

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
  • GDPR (Mandatory)
  • CCPA
  • India DPDP Act
  • China Data Privacy Law

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently in a global, cross-functional setup
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong documentation and report-writing capabilities
• Experience delivering training and awareness programs
• Good understanding of data protection technologies and controls
